Update for Patients Visiting King George Surgery
Posted on December 13th, 2021
Patients visiting King George Surgery will note we have had a new glass screen installed on our Reception desk. We know it has been extremely difficult for both patients and Reception staff to deal with all enquiries via the window, we thank you all for your patience. From this morning we are trialling the following:
- If you have a pre-booked appointment with a GP or Nurse – please enter the lobby via the automatic doors and use the screens to check yourself in. Please then enter the waiting room. Hand sanitiser is available on entry and should be used. Face coverings are still mandatory. Please come alone where possible, we must still monitor the number of people waiting, and on occasion you may be asked to wait outside.
- If you have an appointment with the Midwife or for a Blood Test – you need to speak to Reception to gain access to this part of the building – you will not be able to use the check in screens. Please bear in mind at busy periods, there may be a wait – please leave adequate time to get to your appointment.
- If you are dropping off a sample – please take this to the window you previously have been using. Please knock and wait, Reception will be with you as soon as they can. The sample must have been requested (you cannot drop off a sample without having spoken to a clinician) and it must be clearly labelled with your details – please ensure this is done to avoid delays.
- If you have been advised you will be seen in the POD – DO NOT ENTER THE BUILDING. Please advise Reception you are here via the window, you will wait outside until the clinician calls you.
Please bear in mind that COVID-19 has not gone away. We still need to protect other patients and staff, we still require face coverings to be worn, and please consider your distance from others when visiting either practice.
