Delays to Fluenz – flu vaccine for 2 and 3 year olds, and 4-17 in an at risk group

Posted on October 22nd, 2019

We have unfortunately been made aware of a delay in delivery of the Fluenz vaccine this year.  Fluenz is the nasal spray flu vaccine that is given to 2 and 3 year olds, and those aged 4-17 in an at risk group.  Children aged 4-10 in primary school will receive their vaccine at school.

Unfortunately the delay has meant us having to cancel and reschedule flu clinics – we do apologise if this has affected you and your child, it has been outside of our control.  We have also had restrictions to the numbers of vaccines we can order at anyone time, to ensure that the entire country has access to supplies. Please bear with us – and we apologise again for any inconvenience.

Patient Survey

  • We have changed the way we work due to the pandemic, and we would really appreciate your feedback regarding your recent contact. We feel that by triaging patients we are able to offer greater capacity to ensure that those patients that really need to be seen are seen in a timely manner, rather than having to wait a long time. We are seeking patient thoughts around this new, modern way of working as we feel it represents a positive change in waiting times. Many thanks for taking the time to complete the questions below.
