COVID-19 Vaccinations – Updated Information
We have so far administered vaccines to over 1000 eligible patients and NHS staff. We are due to deliver this group of patient’s second dose of the vaccine this coming weekend (8th-11th January 2021).
This has been achieved by working together with other local GP Practices (called a Primary Care Network) to provide the vaccines, rather doing vaccinations here at the practice. Our current designated site is Roebuck Surgery, 114 Broadwater Crescent, Stevenage SG2 8HW.
To enable everyone to get the vaccine in a safe and controlled way, a prioritisation list has been devised by the JCVI so the vaccine can be delivered to groups who need it first, https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/priority-groups-for-coronavirus-covid-19-vaccination-advice-from-the-jcvi-2-december-2020 PLEASE WAIT UNTIL YOU ARE CALLED.
So far, we have only been provided with and given the Pfizer BioNTech vaccine. We will shortly be commencing the Oxford AstraZeneca vaccine but as yet, we do not have supplies of this. Once we receive it, again we will be governed by the prioritisation list as above.
Patients on anticoagulant therapy can have the vaccine – but must be aware there is a slight risk of bleeding, pressure is to be applied for a short time after the vaccination. If you have previously had vaccinations (like Flu) before without any issues, there is nothing to worry about.
Patients who have a had a significant allergic reaction to anything – food, animals, medications are not suitable for the Pfizer BioNTech vaccine at this time – please make sure you advise the person that calls you.
A leaflet about the vaccine is available here Covid-19 Vaccination Leaflet

We are working hard to plan the delivery of COVID-19 vaccinations, while continuing to deliver the largest ever flu vaccine campaign and supporting our patients with routine and urgent health requests. On that basis, we are unable to answer additional questions about the COVID vaccine.
